Lincoln &quot;got it.&quot; Unlike his successors, (save perhaps Reagan) his agenda was truly to unite this nation and acknowledge that he (as do we all) serves and answers to a &quot;higher authority.&quot; Though I too will spend a portion of my day &quot;feasting, fellowshiping and perhaps watching a bit of football&quot; I appreciate the admonition to carve out significant time to &quot;seek His face&quot; and give thanks for my countless blessings and withholding his mighty hand of judgement. May we all begin the day by adhering to Lincoln&#039;s charge and give thanks with a grateful heart for the &quot;gracious gifts of a Most High God.&quot;</description>
